I have been playing at BingoMania for a few weeks now and here's my likes/dislikes about the site:
Likes:
1. Updated version of Parlay's bingo software. The functionality is still basically the same, but the look and feel is much nicer, more "up-to-date".
2. There are five rooms to choose from - $1, 50c, 25c, 5c and 1c. Dollars are too rich for my blood, so I play in the 25c and 5c rooms mostly. The games in both of these rooms pay relatively decently - even during slow times.
3. Game variety - is very good. I especially like the 'Coverall Madness' sessions. They also have a 50c 'Pack n Line' room that is open part of the day. Lots of short line/stamp/pack games, but participation is low and its 50c a card. I'm hoping this one picks up popularity soon.
4. Chances of winning are good - I have won a few games - nothing to write home about, but also no week-long streaks of winning nothing. Also I rarely see the 'same player winning all the time' syndrome.
Dislikes:
1. The chat room box is very small (compared to previous Parlay versions) and you have to keep all of your comments short or they take up the whole screen. Smileys (emoticons) tend to get lost or don't appear at all. A side effect is that chat tends to scroll much faster and it is difficult to follow a conversation.
2. There isn't a lot of camaraderie in the room (probably a result of #1 above). Mostly the CM posting the cg over and over. There are conversations occasionally, but not nearly as much as I was accustomed to on the previous site I played at.
3. The roomie list in the chat box is sorted alphabetically (as opposed to the order in which a roomie entered) and they play mostly nabor-type games. This means that you get very little variety in who your nabors are. Also its difficult to see who is coming in if you want to say 'Hi'.
4. When you go into a room to play, you are not automatically entered into the chat room. You have to select it specifically. This means there are a lot of people in the lobby and a small percentage in the room. (Side note: I can see how many people would actually like this feature, it just a personal preference of mine)
5. When you first log in to the site, where all of the bingo rooms are listed to select from, they don't show the next game amount, number of players or a countdown till next game. You have to go into the room to find out.
and that's my 2c
